There are a lot of objectives in Dead Space that require skills of Isaac to repair or replace different parts of the ship trying to figure out what is going on and come to the next step closer to finding his partner Nicole. Manually Ignite Engines is an objective from Chapter 3: Course Correction, and to finish it you will have to solve the Fans & Battery Puzzle.

Fans & Battery Puzzle Guide (Manually Ignite Engines Objective)
Fans Puzzle
At the beginning of the objective, you will have to solve the Fans Puzzle which is on the left side of the bridge going to the Engine room.
The fan is spinning and you will have to use your ability to shoot on it and slow it down. After that just fly over it and you will come to
At the back of the fan, you can find the Circuit Breaker on the wall where you can turn On/Off the Airlock 1 & 2 and the fan. To solve this correctly, you must turn off the fan, and turn on both Airlock 1 & 2.
The hose going to the gate of the engine room will turn blue, which means the gate can be opened.
Battery Puzzle
Once you get inside the engine room, you will come to the control station which says there is an engine failure, and you need to replace the power cell to begin the ignition sequence.
To solve this, you will have to go to the right side of the platform and pick up the battery from the working table.
Now, just bring the battery and place it inside the engine. The battery will power up the engine, and you will complete the Manually Ignite Engines objective.
