These dogs in Dinkum are called Dingos, there is a way for this dingo to become your companion and be with you.
The dingo can be found anywhere on the map as a wild animal, they are passive mobs that won’t attack you unless you attack them first.
To tame the dingo, you will need to have a Doggo Collar. A doggo collar is a rare item that can be found while you are exploring the deep mines in some of the chests inside the treasure rooms.
Once you have it, head over to one of the animals and use the collar on them to tame them and become your pet.
These companions can follow you around, attack different monsters with you and just help you around with certain things. NOTE that they can be killed from alpha monsters, so be careful!
