Hogwarts Legacy is the much-awaited and very first open world RPG based off the universe of the Harry Potter franchise. This game is set in the world described in the Harry Potter series and some new locations. You can create a version of yourself in the wizarding world and strive to become a powerful wizard while studying at Hogwarts.
Like most RPGs, Hogwarts Legacy features a gear system that offers you various boons with each gear that you equip. In this guide, we will show you how to identify gears in Hogwarts Legacy!
How To Identify Gear
In order to identify gears in Hogwarts Legacy, you need to first unlock The Room of Requirement. The Room of Requirement is located in The Astronomy Wing specifically along the seventh-floor corridor of the Astronomy Tower. Completing The Room of Requirement story quest will unlock it.

Inside the Room of Requirement, beside Professor Weasly, you will find a table with an owl perched on it. Approach this table and you will find a scroll that you can interact with. You can use this to identify a gear.
Once you have identified your gears, you can find more information about it in the Gear tab. You can also equip your gears in this tab.
Information about the gear includes its name, rarity, type (offence or defence), what it does, and it trait slot level for upgrades.
