Salt 2 is a great first person POV survival game where you start off from scratch on an abandoned island and begin your survival adventures. In this game, you will be doing a lot of hunting, mining, and event farming to keep your character alive.

Mining Guide – Salt 2

Rarity:

The Rarity of the items in this game are:

  • Grey which is Common,
  • Green which is Uncommon,
  • Blue which is Rare
  • Purple which is Epic
  • Orange which is Legendary.

How does money go in this game?

In Salt 2, 100 Cooper is 1 Silver. 100 Silver is 1 Gold, and 100 Gold is 1 Platinum.

Based on your character level, you will find different quantities of items in Ore deposites, wood, saplings and in most of the containers.

The Sunken Key:

The Sunken Key can be used to open a chest where you can find in the Lone Fisherman Dock House. The Chest isn’t always there. The Sunken Key can be taken if you fish it out the Ocean.

Boats/Ships:

From the boat Inventory tab, you can select a boat to place in a valid piece of water. After that you should be able to sail away again.

On the ESC there is an option where you can return to your ship, no matter where you are on the Island.

Placed Items On Your Ship:

After you place things on your ship, you can pick them up again by pressing “R” when you look at the placed item. Then you can press “F” to pick it up.

Dungeons:

If you get stuck in a Dungeon, on the ESC menu there is an option to “return to cave entrance”.

Island Types:

Natural: Green trees and grass. Any Ore type, but Copper Mostly.

Desert: Tan sand covers island, lots of rocks. Mining caves can be found here.

Battlemaster: Red trees and orange grass.

King Island: Tall stone blocks and a fort.

Mining Ore Veins:

Levels Mining. Your mining level determines which ore you can mine. Every 10 levels increases your mining ability by one ore type.

Copper (45xp): You can mine this from the start of the game. Found everywhere, inside and out.

Mostly on natural islands.

Iron (250xp): You can mine this once you reach mining level 10. Found everywhere, but mostly desert islands.

Silver(1300xp): You can mine this once you reach mining level 20. Found uncommon everywhere, mostly battlemaster islands. Can have Moonrock.

Gold(8500xp): You can mine this once you reach mining level 30. Found uncommon everywhere, mostly battlemaster islands. Can have Aquastone & Runestone.

Platinum (15000xp): You can mine this once you reach mining level 40. Found rarely anywhere, but mostly in mining caves.

Ebony (20000xp): You can mine this once you reach mining level 40. Found rarely anywhere, but mostly in mining caves.

Found in Ores: Stone, Sandstone, Flint, Oil

When you melt the ore down into ingots, it can get very expensive in ore cots, so mine every rock you can. For example, to make an iron ingot, you need 4 iron ore and a copper ingot (4 copper ore).

So, to make the Highest tier Ebony ingot you will need 4 copper, 4 iron, 4 silver, 4 gold, 4 platinum and 4 ebony ores.
