Star Ocean Second Story R is an all out amazing pixelated adventure game filled with a ton of interesting zones, missions and even characters that you can interact with. All you need to do is get them all and eventually you will have every single one which will help you unlock more and more rewards.

How To Get ALL Characters – Star Ocean Second Story R
To actually get all characters, you need to play 2 playthroughs for the whole game. One for Rena and the other for Claude.
Without further ado, let’s begin with each character.
If you play with Rena, you will be able to recruit the following characters:
- Celine
- Ashton
- Welch
- Precis
- Dias
- Chisato
If you play with Claude, you will be able to recruit the following characters:
- Opera
- Bowman
- Ernest
- Leon
- Noel
- Chisato
Rena
Rena Lanford is the first beginner character of the game and you can get her by default.
Claude
Claude C. Kenny is another starting character that you get by default. Cannot be missed.
Celine
Celine Jules is your first optional character and you will be on a mission with her where she will join your party.
After you’ve completed that mission, you will have a decision to make, stick with her or let her go. If you choose to stick with her, you will unlock Celine.
But if you decide to let her go, shill will no longer be available.
Ashton
Ashton Anchors is a swordsman that you will meet along your journey in Star Ocean.
After finishing the story quest in Mars, you will see two NPCs talking to each other. Interact with them and they will talk about the Salva mines.
Go to the Salva mines and there you will find Ashton fighting against two dragons. Take the quest from there, complete it and Ashton will be a part of your team.
Welch
Welch Vineyard can be recruited by going to the City of Lacour and enter a private action. Just before entering the castle, she will laterally fall off the castle and right next to you.
Precis
Precis F. Neumann will be met when you enter the Town of Linga. After finishing the tournament of arms in the town of Linga, you will meet with Precis.
To recruit Precis, you need to play as Rena, exit the town of Linga and re-renter it as a private action. Once you do so, talk with Precis’s father.
If you play as Claude, you need to go near Bowman’s Pharmacy and she will be there for discussion.
Dias
Dias Flac is recruited whenever you visit the Lacour Front Line. If you play as Rena, you will see him there and you can recruit him by speaking with him.
He cannot be recruited if you play with Claude.
Chisato
Chisato Madison can be recruited once you’ve visited the Cave of the Red Crystal.
You will speak with Chisato there and she will run off. Now you need to explore the whole cave and look for her ID card. The ID card is a small white pixel that you will spot on the ground. Go pick that up!
Once you have the ID card, go to the central city and speak with her there. Show her the ID card and she will join your party.
Opera
Opera Vecrtra can be recruited once you’ve went to the Town of Hilton inside the tavern.
You will find Opera there in the middle of the tavern and she will be asking questions about a three-eyed man.
Tell Opera that you saw the man in Cross, follow her to Cross and talk with the king to get permission to walk into the mountain caverns.
After going inside the mountain caverns, you will find Opera yet again and she will be a part of your party now.
Bowman
Bowman Jean is a simple character that can be recruited. To recruit him, you simply do not need to recruit Precis previously and he will be a part of your team.
Ernest
Ernest Raviede is the boyfriend of Opera. There are a few things to know before recruiting Ernest.
If you recruit Ashton, you won’t be able to recruit Ernest.
If you don’t recruit Opera, you won’t be able to recruit Ernest.
Make sure you have Opera on your team if you want to recruit Ernest.
To recruit Ernest, you simply need to follow the main story and eventually he will become a part of your team.
Leon
Leon D.S. Gehste can be recruited only if you play with Claude.
Eventually as you follow the main story, you will have an option to invite him into your group or remove him.
Noel
Noel Chandler can be recruited in the later stages of the game and all you need to do is to have extra slots for characters. He will be recruited in the Red Caverns Scenario where he will ask to join you.
