Health
HP is probably one of the most important aspects of any RPG and in Hades II it’s no different.
You get very few chances to get HP and rarely get any HP during fights, instead, make use of your dodge and dash mechanic to avoid damage and evade enemy attacks.
Die for Progress
No, you didn’t read the title wrong, dying is important to advance the story. So, if you suffer an early death don’t be discouraged.
Dying will send you back to the main hub and you can not only alter the abilities of your character but also you get to talk to NPCs who can advise you on how to defeat enemies and give you valuable tips for your quest.
If you’re a try-hard and don’t get any deaths you’ll miss out on some chunks of the story.
Enemies
Watch out for glowing enemies as they are immune to your stun attacks. The best approach is to try to take them down quickly and dodge their attacks to avoid any kind of damage.
If you wish to stun the enemy you can add ice attacks and this should be very effective.
Abilities
Although at first you might be tempted to spam your abilities at every enemy you come across in the game, don’t.
Charging up the spells during fights will leave you vulnerable to enemy attacks. Also charging up your attacks takes time so use them wisely and when needed.
Terrain
You can use terrain to deal extra damage to enemies. This is effective against hard-to-kill enemies and terrain attacks travel faster than normal attacks.
Doors
Don’t rush through doors but look at the symbols on the doors.
Most of the time the doors will display a reward and, in some instances, a skull will be displayed on the door showing that there is a boss fight so tread carefully.
Resource Gathering
Don’t be quick to finish a level but instead go through the level collecting everything you can. One of the main mechanics of the game is resource gathering and crafting.
You should also craft a pickaxe when you start on the game since it will help you gather resources.
Attack Markers
Make sure you pay attention to attack markers when fighting enemies who can use illusions. This will help you determine if the enemy you are fighting is real or not.
